About the Role:

We are seeking a

Senior Packaging Designer / Supervisor

to lead the design and development of automotive packaging solutions. You will mentor junior designers, oversee packaging projects, and ensure designs meet quality, safety, and cost-efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead packaging design for automotive parts and assemblies using

high-level SolidWorks

(CATIA a bonus). Review and create packaging drawings, specifications, and BOMs aligned with internal and customer standards. Evaluate and optimize packaging to improve protection, reduce costs, and support sustainability initiatives. Conduct and oversee packaging tests (vibration, compression, drop, stack). Mentor and supervise junior designers, guiding technical and process development. Collaborate with production, logistics, quality, and suppliers to ensure packaging compatibility. Maintain documentation, compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 5-7+ years of automotive packaging design experience with leadership/supervisory experience.

High-level SolidWorks expertise

(CATIA is a bonus). Strong knowledge of automotive packaging materials and protective design principles. Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, lean manufacturing, and APQP/PPAP processes. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
