We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 700+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 20+ office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Senior Designer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting multi-disciplinary plant designs across various projects from concept to detailed design and execution.
• Develop complete mechanical and/or structural designs, including 3D Models, GA and Layout and Detail Drawings
• Collaborate closely with the engineering teams on designs and drawings
• Check drawings to ensure compliance with industry drafting standards
• Create design drawings and problem-solving concepts by investigating and analyzing specific issues

• The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of mechanical or structural design experience in the mining environment
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience
• Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor, Civil 3D, Revitt 3D modeling
• Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience developing and checking engineering drawings and documentation
• Hydraulic system design and electrical comprehension an asset
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal). Must be a collaborative team player
• Experience with plant design and ensuring required access for construction/maintenance an asset
