Senior Design Technologist

Medical Devices - MacCharles

Job Summary:

The Medical Devices Senior Design Technologist is an experienced Journeyman Machinist or Tool and Die Maker, who reports to the Department Head of Medical Physics. The position provides a range of mechanical technology services to other departments within CancerCare Manitoba as well as other customers on a contract basis. Practical knowledge of all machine shop tools and devices including CNC milling machines is required. Experience with and knowledge of, computer aided design software and its applications are required. The ability to communicate with a range of clinical and technical people in a team-oriented environment is of critical importance.

Educational Qualifications:

• Federal department of labour Red Seal or Manitoba dept of labour Journeyman machinist status or equivalent is required
• Graduation from a recognized technical college program is required
• Ability to communicate in English, reading, writing and orally is required
• A formal training program on at least one Computer Aided Design (CAD) program is required
• Formal training from a recognized business program or course is required

Work Experience:

• A minimum of seven years of Journeyman Machinist and Design Technologist experience in a Medical Physics environment is required
• The knowledge and ability to operate all mechanical shop equipment and tools
• The knowledge and ability to supervise department staff, inventories, budgets and schedules
• Fabrication experience is required
• Experience programming CNC machines is required

Salary: $41.839, $43.41, $44.992, $46.633
