The Senior Dental Assistant will provide chairside support to dentists, oversee junior assistants, manage clinical workflows, and uphold the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality chair-side assistance during dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments.
Lead, mentor, and train dental assistants and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
Manage sterilization processes, infection control standards, and operatory preparation.
Oversee supply management by monitoring inventory, ordering materials, and maintaining equipment so the clinical team always has what they need.
Impression and model work - take precise impressions, pour and trim models.
Coordinate patient flow to maximize efficiency and reduce wait times.
Take and process dental radiographs in compliance with safety guidelines.
Accurately document patient records, treatment notes, and procedural details.
Support dentists in patient education, treatment planning, and post-procedure instructions.
Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
Act as a point of contact between clinical staff and administrative teams to streamline communication.
Qualifications
Certified/Registered Dental Assistant (CDA/RDA) or equivalent (state-specific requirements apply).
Minimum
3 years of experience
as a dental assistant level 2.
Proficiency in dental radiography, chairside procedures, and infection control protocols.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and patient-focused in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar) is an advantage.
