Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DataStage Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL development using IBM DataStage, along with expertise in SQL, UNIX/Linux scripting, and data warehousing concepts. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can design, develop, and maintain robust ETL processes to support enterprise data integration and analytics initiatives.

In this role, you will:

Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL processes using IBM DataStage. Analyze complex data requirements and translate them into scalable ETL solutions. Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts to support ETL workflows. Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements. Optimize ETL performance and troubleshoot data issues. Ensure data quality and integrity across all stages of the ETL process. Participate in code reviews, documentation, and deployment activities. Provide production support and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in city, state. What you need to have to be considered

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of hands-on experience in IBM DataStage development. Strong proficiency in SQL (Oracle, DB2, or other RDBMS). Solid experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting. In-depth understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data modeling. Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., Zeke , JCL, Stone Branch) is a plus. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
