3 Step IT is expanding our North American operations with rapid growth expected over the next few years. We are a well-established European company specializing in IT lifecycle services, data security, and sustainable technology management. We are seeking a Senior Data Erasure Technician to join our Etobicoke Processing Facility and Technical Services Centre. This position plays a key role in ensuring secure and efficient data erasure of IT assets within a certified and high-performing environment.

Job Summary:

The Senior Data Erasure Technician will lead all technical aspects of data erasure operations at 3 Step IT's Etobicoke Processing Facility and Technical Services Centre. The role ensures that data-bearing devices are processed to the highest security standards in compliance with R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001. The technician will oversee setup, optimization, and maintenance of the data erasure environment, including enterprise data center and end-user hardware.

Responsibilities:

Lead and execute data erasure processes for data center and end-user equipment. Configure and maintain Blancco and associated erasure systems, Data Erasure Stations for laptops, servers, storage systems and network devices. Maintain documentation, certificates, and audit trails. Troubleshoot hardware connectivity, RAID, HBA and firmware challenges. Oversee documentation, certificates, and compliance logs. Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient processing. Support internal teams and Train and mentor technicians in data erasure best practices.

Experience and Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant experience in ITAD, data erasure, or technical services. Strong technical knowledge of enterprise hardware and erasure management systems such as Blancco. Familiarity with R2v3 and ISO 27001/14001 standards. Prior supervisory or senior technician experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage erasure operations within strict quality systems. Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong focus on quality, security, and operational excellence.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
