GENERAL FUNCTION

The Data Engineer team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead securitization data and process engineering, with primary focuses including data structures, data processes, and other data engineering deliverables.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead data engineering and process engineering of Momentum\xe2\x80\x99s loan securitization processes \xe2\x80\x93 a critical component of the business with excellent visibility to the top levels of management
• Develop and deliver long-term goals for data architecture standards
• Create short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term data management objectives
• Be a key part of Momentum\xe2\x80\x99s Data strategy by developing the next-gen Dynamic Data Engineering framework
• Enhance the data lake platform, acquiring additional data sources \xe2\x80\x93 both structured and unstructured
• Lead the reporting data structure design and oversee the design phases of the projects, assuring that design conforms to established architectural design guidelines and standards
• Ensure the success of enterprise-level application rollouts; connect vendors and providers to select products and services that meet the company\'s goals
• Develop a highly scalable and extensible Big Data platform, which enables collection, storage, modeling, and analysis of massive data sets from numerous channels
• Play an active role in exploring and implementing best practices related to modern Big Data Analytics technologies and applications/uses (e.g., best practices related to business intelligence analysis and new service

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Required: BS in computer science or in a related technical field
• Preferred: Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science or in a related technical field
• EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a data engineering / analytics domain, with at least 1 year in digital analytics
• 5+ years of experience in financial services, within a functional area related to loan securitization and/or loan servicing
• 7+ year of data analysis, data modeling, and/or data management experience
• Experience with building a data lake in the cloud (e.g., Azure, ADF, Synapse)
• Strong experience with SQL and one other programming language (e.g., Python, .NET, Java)
• Hands-on experience parsing NoSQL file systems such as JSON, XML, AVRO, and Parquet
• Exposure to traditional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, SSRS)
• Experience driving projects that merge digital and transactional data for advanced analytics
• Experience implementing data lake projects
• Experience building web-services is a plus
• Functional knowledge of financial instruments such as installment loans and payday loans, as well as relevant data domains such as loans, underwriting, collections, promotions, call center data, and fraud
• Nice-to-have: Strong knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Databricks, event-driven data processing using Lambda or similar apps/services

SKILLS

• We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who is highly skilled/knowledge in the following areas:

• Azure/Synapse, ETL tasks, and Azure Data Factories
• Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL)
• Data quality control frameworks (e.g., while sourcing data)
• SQL-based data analysis
• Related to Databricks: Delta Lake, Python scripting, and Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas)
• Tableau (preferred), Power BI, Qlik
• Digital data analysis and visualization (reporting) creation
• AI/ML, BI, and data lake related implementations
• SQL Server, SSIS, and NoSQL
