POSITION OVERVIEW
RecRoot's public sector client is seeking

Senior Data Architects
to support service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects across ministries.
As a Senior Data Architect
, you will lead the design of semantic and analytical data architectures that enable
generative AI applications, conversational interfaces, and advanced analytics services
. You will oversee semantic models, ontologies, taxonomies, and metadata standards; build scalable cloud-based infrastructure; and integrate AI tools with enterprise data systems.
This role also requires strong leadership and communication, as you will mentor technical teams, document architectural standards, ensure policy-aligned data governance and ethical AI practices, and stay ahead of emerging technologies in semantic data and AI infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design and implementation of semantic data models that support generative AI applications and conversational user interfaces.
Develop and manage ontologies, taxonomies, and metadata standards to enhance data discoverability, governance, and reuse.
Document architecture decisions, standards, and best practices to support operational sustainability and knowledge transfer.
Architect and maintain scalable cloud-based infrastructure to support semantic data integration, knowledge graphs, and AI-driven services.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to align semantic architecture with strategies and ensure interoperability across platforms.
Integrate generative AI tools with enterprise data systems to enable intelligent conversational capabilities.
Support the development of conversational user interfaces, AI-enabled data products, and AI agents that leverage structured and unstructured data sources.
Ensure policy-aligned data privacy, security, and ethical AI practices are embedded in all semantic and AI infrastructure designs.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members involved in semantic, AI, and analytical initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies in semantic knowledge, AI, and data architectures to inform strategic planning and innovation.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
Work Experience

experience in building analytical and data solutions.

in data analytics or data science domains.
5+ years
using analytical and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
5+ years
with Hadoop, Microsoft Fabric, or similar big data platforms.
5+ years
with dimensional modeling and semantic/metadata frameworks.
5+ years
with relational databases and ETL tools.
5+ years
working in data warehouse environments.
1+ years
working with Semantic data models and ontologies to enable structured knowledge representation and improve conversational AI.
1+ years
experience with semantic data models and ontologies.
3+ years
experience in cloud architecture and integration.

experience applying DevSecOps practices in data environments.

direct, hands-on experience with technical tools/platforms (as specified by client).

Security Requirements:

Mandatory Training:
Hired resources will be required to complete government-mandated training (e.g., FOIP, Cybersecurity, Information Management, Respect in the Workplace).
