A career in cybersecurity at National Bank means contributing to the Bank\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s transformation and having a direct impact on clients. As a Senior Cybersecurity Practices Advisor, you will support and work closely with the three Practice Leads: * Risk Management and Compliance\xc3\x82

You will answer cybersecurity-related compliance questions from regulators and various business sectors represented by BISOs (Business Information Security Officers) in addition to ensuring that business sectors and subsidiaries are aligned, in keeping with the intrinsic compliance requirements of their activities.

Your role:
  • Act as a cybersecurity compliance expert in the first line of defense
  • Work closely with the second line of defense to represent the Bank with assigned external partners and defend the Bank\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s interests (OSFI, Interac, AMF, etc.)
  • Carry out IT compliance reviews and support the teams of experts in developing secure solutions
  • Analyze regulatory requirements and propose an alignment of practices that meets the stated requirements
  • Act as a relationship agent with regulators and auditors during audits and provide them with the required audit evidence based on risks
  • Anticipate the Security sector\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s regulatory progression: read, analyze, and comprehend new cybersecurity regulation requirements that apply to financial institutions and determine their impacts and consequences for the Bank
  • Perform diverse and complex analyses and interpret results in order to provide useful information for decision-making
Required skills:
  • A bachelor\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience OR a master\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience evaluating controls related to information security
  • Knowledge of risk (concept of compliance, legal, and reputational risk)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices (IAM processes, data/asset protection, vulnerability management, etc.)
  • Motivated to learn new things
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain concepts in plain language, both verbally and in writing
  • Bilingualism (English and French) as you will do business with stakeholders throughout the country
Desired skills:
  • Knowledge of some standards (ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Critical thinking skills for challenging the status quo
