Responsible to apply the principals of service excellence as a partner to Retail Credit, Business Credit and Meridian One Cap relating to ongoing projects, LOS platforms and support. Accountable to leverage expertise to accurately represent Credit Management on projects; ensuring systems and processes within the departments are optimized and sustainable for the long-term. The Senior Credit Project Specialist is skilled in clear communications with a demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with other internal departments as well as Members and other external contacts. This individual is both skilled and experienced in Change Management, with an expertise in efficiently and purposefully working through situations that require changes in behavior while maintaining project timelines. Responsible to apply the principals of teamwork, organization and forecasting to the maintenance, ongoing development and budgeting of iLend (Commercial Loan Origination System) as well as the many vendors associated with both iLend and Credit Risk Analytics. Key Responsibilities
  • Builds and maintains effective collaborative relationships with corporate and delivery partners to influence change and develop/implement strategies that maximize the service being supported.
  • Builds and maintains effective collaborative relationships with Vendors of Credit Risk Analytics to ensure efficient and effective collaboration between Meridian and each of our unique vendors.
  • Leverages experience and internal partners to resolve a diverse range of related issues/situations/problems arising from various projects.
  • Create a consistent and positive experience for our partners and Members.
  • Manage and maintain the iLend Enhancement budget on a yearly basis working with vendors Linedata and Accutive.
  • Gather business requirements from specific business partners and create unique UI customizations (workflow, lookups, Risk Rating, etc.) in iLend on an ad hoc basis.
  • Provide testing and peer review throughout the many developmental stages of projects. Be able to gather business requirements, identify specific subject matter experts, and both coordinate and execute specific user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure new and or streamlined processes are communicated to the appropriate business partners.
  • Ensure documentation requests for updates to forms, policies and procedures are updated and communicated within a reasonable time frame and with accuracy.
  • Manage and maintain day to day activities for iLend in updating user fields, providing reporting assistance and ad hoc Business Banking new product initiatives.
  • Provide necessary onboarding materials to new users of iLend and Moodys Credit Lens and ensure that users have full access to both systems.
  • Manage communication to user groups of updates or changes to system.
  • Manage and maintain the vendor management responsibilities for the Credit Risk Analytics team using the Vendor Management portal, to ensure that all reporting, audit, and contractual requirements are always up to date.
  • Work in partnership with Accounting to provide forecasting and budgeting for all Credit Risk Analytics vendors on a yearly basis.
  • Maintain a current understanding of Banking industry standards and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to construct compelling business cases in support of initiatives and/or plans.
  • Synthesizes complex organizational issues into manageable parts; provides practical solutions that department and front-line staff understand and value upon implementation.
  • Attend all appropriate meetings and calls relating to all projects within Credit.
  • Provide input as necessary to ensure the projects are efficient as possible.
  • Complete necessary work both prior and after meetings and calls to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Co-ordinate with colleagues for feedback/input to have the most accurate information necessary for the project.
  • Proactively identify areas requiring process improvements and take ownership for proposing creative solutions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry and administrative experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Business Banking.
  • Completion of formal post-secondary education or equivalent work experience including the use of Word, Excel and other office automation software applications is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ovation.
  • Strong knowledge of Meridian commercial security documentation.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence and the achievement of results.
  • Solid knowledge of Meridian products, procedures and business practices.
  • Strong research and investigative skills for development of policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements internal and external to Meridian.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be confident in dealing with external vendors, lawyers, Members and internal/external staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrates innovative and creative approaches to solving difficult challenges and seizing opportunities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Works well in a team environment.

Office Location: 3330 Bloor Street West, Toronto OR, 75 Corporate Park Drive, St. Catharines.
