We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and analyzing cost data, ensuring accurate financial reporting and pricing products , and supporting budgeting and auditing processes. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining precise cost records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting financial services initiatives to optimize company profitability.
Duties
Prepare and analyze cost reports to monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft
Conduct account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
Perform auditing procedures to verify the integrity of financial information
Maintain detailed bookkeeping records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
Support payroll processing and related financial activities
Analyze account activity to identify discrepancies or irregularities and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and implement new software solutions
Skills
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other accounting platforms
Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and auditing practices
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bookkeeping processes
Ability to perform detailed account analysis and budgeting activities
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
Prior experience working within financial services or related industries is preferred
Knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations is advantageous
