Our Team:

The Integrated Operations Scheduling team is integral to the success of the operations in becoming a safe, predictable and reliable producer. The teamwork across the mines to ensure success through enhanced planning and scheduling processes and provide our employees the ability to identify and resolve work conflicts before they occur.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior. Coordinator, Scheduler to join our Integrated Operations Scheduling team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position, working steady days following a rotation that follows the production schedule.

Reporting to the IOS Superintendent, the role holder will produce schedules for crews on a shift-by-shift basis and update the schedule based on progress to keep the mine on-track for the week. You will assess the progress made by the previous day, night and daily crews based on the documentation produced by the crews, supervisors and mining areas.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Ensure that schedules are within boundaries to safely operate without impact to employees, the business, the environment and the community.
• Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Work within budget, guidelines and standards to execute Safety and Production Plans as established.
• Utilize work management systems and raise to the appropriate authority if schedules cannot be achieved within quality and/or quantity parameters.
• Update site/area shift schedules during the week of execution
• Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine.
• Monitor shift schedule compliance and understand deviation causes.
• Recommend Improvements to Area Schedulers/Planners and Integrated Operations Specialist
• Seek feedback from Supervisors/crew members to improve process.
• Carryout tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed upon timeline and end state.
• Escalate changes requiring a shift in priority inside the week of execution to the Integrated Operations Superintendent
• Escalate changes requiring rescheduling outside the week of execution to the relevant Area Scheduler
• Focus on results.

About You

Education:

• Post secondary education within a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
• Engineers in Training are encouraged to apply.

Experience:

• Experience using scheduling software and SAP.
• Experience in a mining related industry will be considered an asset.

Skills:

• Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments.
• Ability to work independently to achieve outcomes with minimum supervision.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, Power BI).
