Your opportunity

Our BDO Indirect Tax Controversy team is looking for a Senior Consultant to own the following responsibilities:

• Communicating directly with our clients and tax authorities to support ongoing dispute resolution matters.
• Assisting and developing strategies and drafting representations for clients in a context of audit, objection, ruling requests, voluntary disclosure and complaint services.
• Drafting memos and performing research related to indirect tax matters.
• Collaborating with team members of other lines of service and offices across Canada who have specific expertise as it pertains to the client issue under dispute with the tax authorities.
• Developing positive relationships internally and externally to help build the indirect tax practice nationally.
• Support the firm's growth through technical knowledge sharing.

Your experience and education

• You have completed your Law degree or CPA designation.
• You have a minimum of 1 year of relevant tax experience at a recognized national or local law/accounting firm.
• Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
• Commodity Tax short program, GST/HST In-Depth Tax course, or similar is an asset.
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• You have experience with Office 365 suite of Microsoft tools.
• You have effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
