Senior Consultant, Greenhouse Gas & Climate Strategy



Location: Hybrid - Kitchener Office (531 Wellington Street North, Kitchener, ON N2H 5L6)

AET Group is growing and we're looking for a Senior Consultant who's ready to lead the charge in shaping the future of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Climate Strategy consulting in Canada.

What You'll Be Doing



Technical Leadership & Delivery

- You'll help organizations move from measuring their impact to making meaningful change.

Lead and deliver high-impact sustainability projects, including:



GHG inventories, quantifications, and verifications GHG reduction project planning and implementation Organizational sustainability strategies and stakeholder engagement Lifecycle assessments and strategic sustainability reporting Oversee AET's Accredited Validation and Verification Program, preparing for and responding to SCC assessments Support sustainability disclosures, including materiality assessments and climate scenario analysis

Project Management & Coordination -

You'll be the steady hand ensuring projects run smoothly, efficiently, and successfully.

Lead project kick-off meetings, team coordination, and client communication Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple projects Perform data analysis, QA/QC, and reporting to ensure quality outcomes Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and handle administrative tasks including cost accounting and invoicing

Business Development & Outreach -

You'll help shape AET's growth strategy and bring in meaningful, mission-aligned work.

Identify new opportunities through RFPs and RFQs Lead proposal writing and client outreach Represent AET at industry events and build partnerships that expand our impact

Mentorship & Team Growth -

You'll help develop the next generation of climate professionals while building a respected practice area.

Mentor and coach emerging professionals in GHG and sustainability Support hiring and training initiatives Present findings to clients and represent AET at conferences and workshops

What You'll Bring



Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent 7-10 years of experience leading GHG and Sustainability projects Proven expertise quantifying and verifying GHG emissions data for inventories and offset projects

Technical Knowledge



Strong understanding of ISO 14064 standards and related GHG protocols (GHG Protocol, IPCC, CDM) Experience with Canadian regulatory programs (GHGRP, OBPS, TIER, EPS) Familiar with U.S. and international compliance programs (CARB, etc.)

Skills & Abilities



Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills Excellent written and verbal communication Self-motivated, resourceful, and independent Strong research and analytical abilities for timely, high-quality deliverables Valid driver's license

Preferred Assets



Knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD) Training in ISO 14001 & 45001 standards Experience with life cycle assessments, GHG reduction planning, and carbon offset projects Environmental auditing and site visit experience Business development and proposal preparation experience Multidisciplinary background in energy, water, and waste management
