What you'll be doing:

Fraud Management & Fusion Centre manages operational risk for Retail and Business Banking by detecting, preventing and investigating fraud while effectively balancing client impact.

The Senior Consultant, Fusion Insights will be responsible for reviewing, investigating, analyzing, and corelating data to develop insights in support of High value cases with implications across Fraud, Cyber Security, and Corporate security. You will liaise with internal security partners & relationship management teams to confirm suspicious payments, patterns, and trends with clients. The role proactively investigates and recommends effective and efficient solutions and/or potential use cases that close gaps within existing Detection & Monitoring processes. The role also identifies and assesses emerging loss trends and provides consultation/advice on operational risk exposure for new initiatives and product offerings.

How You'll Succeed

  • Use fraud, cyber security, corporate security, and product knowledge to detect suspicious or fraudulent transactions and patterns with a high degree of accuracy and proactively identifying recovery opportunities in order to mitigate significant financial and reputational impacts to the bank.
  • Proactively identify trends, triggers, and opportunities for strategic solutions and use cases to improve detection & response to Cyber/Fraud/Corporate security events
  • Leverage data (transactional, behavioral, system, etc.) to prepare analysis, develop insights, and implement models/rules to improve detection
  • Manage relationships with multiple internal and external partners in order to effectively investigate incidents and identify opportunities
  • Prepare summaries and reports for review by respective business leaders including notifications, status updates, and recommendations related to risk & loss prevention.
  • Perform in depth root cause analysis to identify any potential gaps within CIBC policy and procedures
  • Identify and assess patterns and high value cases, and make recommendations for production implementation to resolve systematic issues and limit false positives.
  • Investigation of complex problems, using good judgment and making sense of information, and communication of findings and detailed information in an impactful way.
  • Lead the fusion investigation process by working with internal clients and business partners
  • Maintain productive relationships and effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions and implement new processes

Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate experience in Analytical Thinking & Problem solving: Strong ability to tackle a problem by using logical systemic, sequential approach in support of problem solving, decision making and priority setting. Relationship Management: Strong Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, peers and business partners.
  • You can demonstrate Advanced knowledge and experience with data exploration through business intelligence (BI)/User interfaces & SQL. Knowledge and experience in developing and testing statistical and predictive models. Technical Skills: Python, AI/ML Frameworks, SAS, Cloud. Data Governance: Effective application of data governance policies and guidelines. File Management: Strong Ability to understand, monitor, update or enhance existing portfolio maintenance. Risk Management: Deep Knowledge of process, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling operational and reputational risk. Effective Communication: Strong Ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate techniques. Leadership: Strong Ability to work with a group to set objectives, generate allegiance and guide and negotiate dialogues
