If youre interested in joining their team of 2,700 diverse individuals and accessing competitive rewards and benefits, all while knowing you are part of a greater movement, then apply today!About the workplaceThe Senior Consultant, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Reconciliation (DEIR) Talent Programs is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Talent programs that advance the organization's reconciliation commitments and align with the BC Human Rights Special Programs. This role involves building strong community connections (in person and virtually), partnering with internal teams, and championing inclusive practices that strengthen our workplace culture. By leading strategic and operational efforts, the Senior Consultant will contribute to a diverse and equitable workforce that reflects the communities we serve.This is a permanent, full-time role that will be fulfilled both in-office and off-site in the community to meet with organizational partners 3 to 4 days a week.A typical day would involve:DEIR Talent Program Development & Implementation:Design, implement, and oversee DEIR-focused talent acquisition programs that align with organizational goals and the BC Human Rights Special Programs commitments.Build and implement education for leaders about the Special Programs with clarity of leader roles and responsibilities and the what, why and how to reach successful results.Establish metrics and reporting systems to evaluate program effectiveness and provide actionable insights to leadership.Collaborate with the data and analytics team to collect, analyze, and report DEIR talent program outcomes, ensuring compliance with BC Human Rights Tribunal requirements and highlighting successes and challenges.Lead the development of public-facing reports and/or materials to share progress and outcomes externally, showcasing transparency and organizational commitment.Partner with People and Culture (P&C) and departmental leaders to embed DEIR principles into all stages of the talent lifecycle, from recruitment to career development.Advise and collaborate on recruitment and retention frameworks to achieve DEIR objectives, including intentional diversity goals for underrepresented groups such as Indigenous, Transgender, and Black talent.Collaborate with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to support talent engagement, mentorship, and professional growth initiatives.Inclusive Recruitment and Retention:Build pipeline of diverse talent pools to be hired directly through our Special Programs.Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to develop recruitment strategies that prioritize inclusivity and provide equitable candidate experiences.Build mechanism for timely reporting of retention challenges to HR partners Integrate reconciliation-focused practices into recruitment and retention strategies, addressing barriers and fostering inclusion.Partner with internal communications teams to highlight successes and build awareness about DEIR programs.Community Engagement & Partnerships:Act as the Special Programs ambassador by fostering and growing partnerships with external organizations, educational institutions, and community groups to share job opportunities and career paths at Vancity.Cultivate relationships with external organizations and advocacy groups to enhance DEIR talent initiatives.Actively participate (in-person and virtual) in DEIR related community initiatives, creating opportunities for education and involvement in social justice efforts.Develop partnerships that promote inclusive hiring practices and create pathways for individuals from historically marginalized communities.Research and engage with EDI-focused surveys, awards, and reports to share progress and contribute to sector-wide learning. Prepare and complete submissions to reflect the organizations efforts and align with its community impact goals.Advisory & Leadership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on DEIR hiring strategies, providing guidance to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to increase awareness and competency in DEIR talent acquisition and retention practices among leadership.
  • Foster open communication between leadership and employees to address DEIR concerns and build a culture of trust and transparency.
  • Advise on organizational policies and practices to ensure alignment with DEIR objectives and compliance with the BC Human Rights Special Programs.
You have:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DEIR program and/or project management, talent acquisition, or related areas, with a focus on inclusive hiring practices.
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, bias mitigation, cultural competency, and reconciliation practices.
  • Expertise in community engagement and building partnerships with external organizations.
  • Lived experience from Indigenous, Transgender, and/or Black persons is considered a significant asset for this role as these identities are part of Vancitys BC Human Rights Special Programs commitment.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and use insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with an emphasis on driving measurable outcomes.

Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity.
