Our Team:

ERM (External Resources Management) team is a group of highly skilled senior employees coordinating activities performed by the largest contracting groups on site and managing the execution of annual ACD plan (lateral and vertical development as well as all electrical, civil and mechanical construction activities), managing the execution of underground project specific type work (Thompson Mine Expansion), managing the execution of underground diamond drilling programs (both exploration and definition drilling) and managing the surface hauling and stockpile management contractors.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Coordinator to join our Manitoba Operations in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position working on site.

As the Senior Construction Coordinator, you will ensure the successful execution of assigned projects monitoring the constraints of Safety, Cost, Schedule and Deliverables, as well you will be knowledgeable in the projects contract, scope of work and drawings to ensure the objectives of the business are met.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Ensure all personnel working on projects receive the required training for the Manitoba Operations, this will include the use of PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), MOC (Management of Change) and FLRA (Field Level Risk Assessment)
• Issue field work instructions and orders for approval by the project manager
• Implement and coordinate all project execution activities from project kick off to commissioning.
• Perform detailed reviews of engineering drawings and specifications during the project design phase.
• Collaborate with underground mine development team to coordinate underground project efforts and ensure facility turnovers meet expectations and required timelines.
• Monitor and coordinate contractor activities to ensure schedule and production is maintained.
• Audit the project safety plans during project execution.

About You

Education:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of Underground construction experience.
• Underground electrical construction is an asset.

Skills:

• Skilled user of Excel and other MS tools.
• Solid understanding and appreciation for Health, Safety, Environmental & Risk policy and procedures.
• Demonstrated understanding of budget tracking and working within departmental schedules and budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate with others to build effective working relationships and teams.
• Strong communication skills and development of concise documents and presentation materials.
