The Communications and Media Relations Team works in partnership with FNHA program areas, leadership, regional teams and health partners to support First Nations in BC to achieve their health and wellness goals and improve access to culturally safe, quality health services for all First Nations people in BC. The team provides strategic communications, publishing and graphic design services, and develops content for a range of channels to ensure clear, timely and appropriate messaging for internal and external audiences.
Title: Senior Communications Officer Contract: Permanent Location: Vancouver, B.C. (Working from home is an option in line with FNHA?s work policy - minimum of two days a week in office).
About the role
As SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, you will implement communications programs and projects for the FNHA. You will work with the Senior Communications Officers in consultation with project teams, business leads, and health and governance partners. You will provide specialized expertise in the development and delivery of internal and external communications for the FNHA. This may include launch plans, web content, briefing notes, guides, news releases, social media campaigns and marketing materials. You will provide communication support services for FNHA departments including the development and implementation of communication plans, attending project meetings and proactively identifying activities that need to be communicated to audiences and stakeholders. This role also involves developing general communication materials including information sheets, news articles, web and social media content, video and audio scripts and other public communications materials.
About you
You have excellent written and verbal communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals and groups. You have a proven track record for executing high quality communication plans and materials, primarily in health care, pharmacy or health benefits programs. You have experience working with BC First Nations communities.
Education & Experience
You have a University degree in Communications or Public Relations, or related discipline.
You have 4 to 6 years of significant, recent experience in communications or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
