Reporting to the Regional Manager the Senior Underwriter will be joining our Western Canada region. They will be responsible for the profitable growth of Wynward Insurance Group's position within the Manitoba region with an identified portfolio of brokers through a combination of sound underwriting and business development skills.

The successful candidate in this new vacancy must be customer service focused, able to establish and maintain positive working relationships, high attention to detail, demonstrated leadership ability, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Produce and underwrite new accounts for risk profitability in accordance with company policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines. Provide exceptional service to identified broker partners targeted for growth. Develop, expand and maintain strong broker relationships within the region through regular visits and communication. Deliver presentations on Wynward's product offerings and targeted classes. Provide mentorship & coaching to junior underwriting team members. Liaison with the Business Development team in gathering and communicating competitive market intelligence. Represent Wynward Insurance Group at various industry functions to drive brand awareness.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years experience as a Senior Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter A proven track record of exceeding sales and development targets. Experience with the creation and interpretation of insurance wordings and guidelines. Strong analytical, assessment, decision-making, and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong business acumen, resourceful, and detail oriented University or College Degree, preferably in a business or analytical discipline is an asset Bilingual in French and English is an asset. Completion of or working towards a CIP or FCIP designation.
