About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Heath Services Manager, the Senior Clerk acts as a resource to the ambulatory care clerks to deal with the day-to-day issues related to the clinic. The Senior Clerk is the central point of communication regarding changes to schedules, bookings and operational process changes. The Senior Clerk will perform all the duties of the ambulatory care clerks, including booking and registration of patients.

The Senior Clerk will be responsible to book visits for procedures and is the central coordination point for all complex and challenging schedule bookings, changes and cancellations.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 diploma in addition to a 1-year medical office administration program
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology Course
  • 2 years of related experience in an ambulatory setting
  • Typing and computer skills
  • Working knowledge of STARS and PHS
  • Time management, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (direct patient care. email communication, etc.)
  • Experience with application of booking standards and timelines for schedule and waitlist management

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time position; 70 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and Incentives

$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly
