Position Description:



Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Senior Civil/Structural Engineer.



Responsibilities:



Lead civil and structural engineering design for oil and gas projects, including well sites, facilities, pipelines, and other industrial structures. Apply extensive structural engineering knowledge, including steel and concrete structure design, foundations and piling, modular structures, and related elements. Review and verify complex structural designs, including rack structure supports, foundation drawings, main and secondary steel frames, platforms and access, architectural plan integration, and load foundation calculations. Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction packages. Estimate tasks, deliverables, and associated civil/structural engineering hours for engineering and procurement (EP) projects, ensuring accurate planning and resource allocation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop cost-effective and constructible designs. Participate in client meetings and facilitate solutions to design issues and challenges. Coordinate interdepartmental design activities, review vendor and shop drawings, and support construction work packages. Provide fabrication and construction support Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (CSA, AISC, API, NBC, ABSA) and client specifications. Work closely with project managers, discipline leads, and clients to ensure project scope, budget, and schedule are met. Participate in project risk assessments, constructability reviews, and design optimization activities.

Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and current Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA (Alberta). Registration in other provinces (e.g., BC, Saskatchewan) is an asset. Minimum 15 years of experience in civil/structural design and engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Strong technical background in structural steel, concrete, foundations, modular structures, and related design elements. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams through all phases of engineering and construction. Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering codes and standards, including CSA, AISC, and the National Building Code of Canada, with experience applying them in oil and gas projects. Proficient with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame) and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD). Field experience in construction or site engineering environments is considered an asset. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and completeness.
