We are currently seeking an
Intermediate Civil/Structural Designer
to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the detailed civil and structural engineering design.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of CSA design codes as well as other pertinent codes, standards, guidelines and best practices.
Strong working knowledge and ability to complete civil/structural analyses and design using software programs such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, RISA and SAP.
Ensure that project designs are fit-to-purpose and demonstrated to meet constructability, including quality assurance requirements.
Exceptional time management, organizational skills and ability to complete project deliverables such as engineering reports, construction/engineering work packages (CWP/EWP), drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations, reports, evaluations, etc., on schedule and budget.
Prepare cost estimates.
Provide guidance and resolutions as required on all civil and structural technical issues to support project delivery.
Coordinate input from other disciplines, including managing information sharing and preparing fully integrated designs and reports.
Ensure that all document checking and design verification tasks have been completed in accordance with the company and project procedures before formal document issue.
Provide support during the construction phase, including site visits and responding to technical issues related to the design.
Qualifications
Civil Engineering degree is required.
P. Eng. designation is required.
8+ years of relevant experience in tube storage and rail design is required.
Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
