J.D. Irving, Limited, is looking for an innovative and energetic leader to join our team in Central New Brunswick as a Senior Civil Engineer. Over the next three years the Woodlands Division is significantly increasing the volume of product we transport from our forest operation to our mill customers. To meet this challenge, the successful candidate will play an integral role in achieving the large-scale construction objectives of the region.

Qualifications:

• A civil engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Minimum of 10 years' experience managing projects
• A minimum of 10 years' experience constructing and maintaining roads
• Experience mentoring a junior team of engineers would be considered an asset
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Class 5 driver's license

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead road projects
• Develop a roadmap for strategic road construction that is aligned with our overall transportation strategy
• Develop work plans for large-scale strategic road construction projects
• Conduct and coordinate contractors, consultants, and their activities.
• Work with Junior Project Engineer to support a team of Foresters, Superintendents, and Supervisors
• Carry out cost analysis for all projects
• Act as a mentor for junior members of the team
