Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home health environments. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance to clients, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions, ensuring accurate patient observation. Assist with meal preparation and cooking, catering to dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with any medical equipment as needed. Provide specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or autism.

Experience

Previous experience in caregiving or support roles within home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred. Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is essential for ensuring client safety. Experience working with individuals requiring memory care or those with physical disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and the ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients is required. A background in social work or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
