Job Description

Our client, a leader in the aerospace and defence industry, is looking to hire a Software Developer.
Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of safety-critical, real-time software solutions.
• Mentor and enhance the agile practitioner skills of team members through conversations and demonstrations.
• Ensure designs are thoroughly documented and effectively communicated.
• Lead and participate in the implementation and testing of real-time software.
• Review the work of experienced and junior teammates, providing guidance and explaining design tradeoffs.
• Lead estimation efforts for new tasks.
• Collaborate with experienced colleagues and management to establish, evolve, and enforce coding standards, tools, environments, and processes.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in C++ development
• RTOS experience
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
• Experience with SOLID principles is an asset
• Capability to train other developers and create training materials/SOPs
• Experience with VxWorks (WindRiver) is an asset
• Experience with Embedded C is an asset
• Knowledge of RTX64 or RTEMS is an asset
• Familiarity with communication interfaces such as SPI, EtherCAT, CANOpen is an asset
• Experience with continuous integration and build automation is an asset

Work Environment:
The work environment offers regular 40-hour workweeks, requiring in-office presence at least three days a week, typically from Tuesday to Thursday, with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm. The dress code is business casual, aiming to match the professional standards of our clients. The team environment is collaborative and collegial, fostering a culture of mutual support and knowledge sharing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
