The Jonah Group is looking for a Senior C++ Developer to establish best practices in programming and technical design. You will be working alongside accomplished tech professionals to build custom, high-quality solutions for clients and drive progress in an agile environment.

Our client is a major Canadian pension fund with global reach. As such, the ideal candidate will be skilled in C++ with a background in financial investment and/or trading applications.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do:

• Work with the trading floor to develop solutions supporting trading activities across asset classes
• Collaborate with the development team to design and implement new applications. This could involve a variety of server-side enterprise solutions, GUI, data-driven reporting, or custom software
• Improvement and maintenance of existing applications
• Perform unit and integration testing on various components
• Compose design documents and program specifications
• Assist QA and Support teams to transition apps through testing, installation and support in production environments
• Uphold high standards of enterprise software development while assisting the business
• Identify and advocate for change when warranted by current processes or existing systems implementations
• Build trustful relationships within the team and with the customer
• Other ad hoc duties as required

Your Preferred Profile:

• A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline
• Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals and theory relevant to applications development
• Strong knowledge of C++
• Exposure to server-side and front-end GUI development
• Solid understanding of relational databases, stored procedures, and SQL
• A track record of great teamwork and the ability to work independently and drive projects to completion
• Capital Markets experience is a must
• Knowledge of FIX protocol is nice to have
