BBE is seeking a full-time, temporary Buyer to join the Procurement team in Edmonton for a minimum 3-month contract to provide direct support for one of our clients. As an experienced Buyer, you will ensure BBE\xe2\x80\x99s strategic growth targets and market position are achieved across our lines of business. To be successful in this role you must embrace continuous learning to develop and strengthen relationships with vendors to meet stakeholder requirements that align with superior customer service and provide value by offering unique solutions to the challenge of goods and services to remote, northern locations and around the world. Responsibilities
Purchasing goods, materials, components or services in-line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Bid evaluation and preparation of requests for the customers, mainly the Govt.
Assist with researching and evaluating areas of opportunities to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
Support in negotiating, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings by following best procurement practice, tools, and methods.
Assist with evaluating suppliers and managing performance improvement activities.
Effectively interact cross-functionally with other departments as required.
Ensure that professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all customer & supplier relationships.
Process customer orders. Arrange and coordinate transportation and expedite where necessary.
Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact on customer expectations.
Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
Work independently but also be effective within a team environment.
Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties.
Commit to BBE QHSE standards and integrate BBE values into everyday practices.
Comply with company standards and values.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.
Qualifications
4-6 years\' experience sourcing and managing suppliers.
Product knowledge with industrial MRO and lubricants is an asset.
Proficiency with Maximo and Oracle preferred
Professional approach to vendor and customer relationship management.
Strong organizational skills and excellent written/verbal communication.
University or Technical school degree in commerce, supply chain, or other relevant discipline.
Proficient in MS software applications.Characteristics needed for this role

Wage starting at $34.00/hour
