Position: Senior BuyerReports to: Procurement and Planning Manager

We are looking for a Senior Buyer - Grain to join our Supply Chain team! Our Buyer will be sourcing and purchasing ingredients for our delicious, plant-powerful products.

  • You have strong computer skills (Great Plains, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Experience
  • You have proven experience in a high-stress fast-paced environment.
  • You have 5+ years of sourcing and buying experience.
  • You have prior grain buying experience.
Nice-to-Have
  • You have experience purchasing food ingredients.
  • You have some co-packing experience.
  • You have post-secondary education in supply chain management.

  • Champion procurement activities in a busy food production environment
  • Ensuring a secure and steady supply of grains to the production facilities
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, manage material requirements and associated logistics.
  • Source food ingredients ensuring items purchased follow established policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate and track contracts with brokers or suppliers providing analytical data and reports to support.
  • Generate savings on raw materials and logistics using commodity knowledge to support business objectives.
  • Ensure the quality of materials, competitive pricing, and sufficient supply at all times.

  • May on occasion work at various times including weekends, as the job requires.
  • Occasional travel to meet with farmers (minimum 2-ce per year or more)
