AECOM is seeking a Business Strategist for our growing Strategy+ practice in Toronto. Strategy+ is AECOM's design-led management consulting studio that operates at the intersection of Business Transformation, Organizational Dynamics, and Place Strategy. We're looking for someone who is comfortable blurring the lines between strategy and creativity, a strong communicator who can tackle diverse projects across various industries, highly motivated, engagingly collaborative, and possesses outstanding analytical and creative problem-solving skills. You will work closely with the Strategy Manager to drive and implement various project profiles, including capital planning, digital consulting, and operational transformation.

Once You Are Here You Will



Work in a client-facing role within a consulting environment, understanding client needs, and translating them into actionable deliverables. Mentor and coach more junior team members on project tasks and deliverables by setting clear timelines, deliverables, and success metrics, Engage with clients through user research, visualize qualitative and quantitative data, and lead workshops to drive new ways of thinking Demonstrate task and project management skills by creating workflows on multiple projects to meet project timelines, while proactively managing scope and change requests. Be comfortable interpreting and guiding extensive data analysis to convey business opportunities and operational transformation in non-technical terms Lead through ambiguity, with other strategists, to hack together new approaches that live at the intersection of multiple disciplines Aid in business development opportunities by strategically developing financial and operational solutions, risks, experiments, data and other drivers

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements



Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, computer science, architecture, urban planning, design, or another relevant field and 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

About You




A T-shaped individual who asks thought-provoking questions, is comfortable wading into ambiguous problems and can take ownership, is a critical thinker. You have a minimum 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas and possess a broader comfort and ability to work within many of these areas:

Management consulting and / or corporate strategy Data analytics & statistical modeling Urban design & planning, functional space programming, and capital planning Digital transformation, operational prioritization, and implementation roadmaps Change management, people operations, organizational design & development User research, synthesis of qualitative data and generating insights Design background in architecture, urban planning, space programming, and interiors


Technically, you are skilled in one or more the following:

Data analytics and visualization (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, or SPSS) Graphic-based software (Adobe CS, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) Design and planning software (Revit, Autocad, Bluebeam, GIS, or Figma) Research software (Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Google forms, or NVivo) Collaborative platforms (Miro or Mural) Microsoft Office (specifically Word and PowerPoint) Project management, planning, and scheduling Design-thinking, Lean/Agile or Prosci certified (or planning to become certified) Business model generation and business case development

It would be a bonus if you are:



Experienced in entrepreneurship, team / practice building within large consulting firms / organizations Skilled in graphic design and visual communication Experienced in infrastructure / the built environment Have been a part of digital transformation
