We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Solution Architect to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the future vision and architecture of the BI & Analytics data tools, driving further value from our enterprise Microsoft Power BI platform.

Our ideal candidate will bring an understanding of shaping business requirements to design, develop, and implement best-in-class business intelligence reporting and visualizations utilizing the Microsoft stack. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders and Executive Leadership Team to identify needs and opportunities for improved BI solutions, acting as a mentor to team members by providing technical and architectural guidance

Key responsibilities in this role include:

• Leading the effort to gather requirements, design, develop, and implement Power BI ad hoc and long-term reports in Microsoft Azure environment
• Providing technical leadership to the Data & Analytics team and ensure the BI solutions developed meet the needs of the stakeholders as well as standards, best practices and data management and reporting security policies
• Providing oversight and expertise in data modeling and database design
• Defining the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap of self-service BI tools, as well as overseeing and supporting the design and development of data warehousing, reporting and analytics solutions that deliver information efficiently
• Articulating the strategy behind BI design decisions and participate in regular peer reviews
• Architecting and developing business intelligence/visualization solutions, data models, Extract, Transfer, and Load (ETL) packages, OLAP cubes, and reports utilizing Power BI applying best practices to the development lifecycle
• Leading design and code reviews as needed to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with requirements
• Providing peer review via meetings, code review discussions, and Gitlab merge requests, as well as applying best practices from software development to analytics code (e.g. version control, testing, CI/CD) and coaching team members on these practices

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• Minimum seven 7 years\' experience in Business Intelligence Architecture and development using Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI, Excel)
• A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Deep technical knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL as a developer, architect and DBA and multiple years of experience of development technologies (C#, VB, .NET, Java) and working with API's
• Hands-on development experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack. Experience implementing best practices for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (DW & BI) solutions in the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack
• Experience in Microsoft Azure Data Warehouse technologies such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Data warehouse, Hive SQL, ADLS, Azure SQL, Python or any language, Azure Synapse Analytics etc
• Experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft Visual Studio Advanced experience using data warehouse development, integration, analysis and other reporting tools (e.g. Cognos)

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.
