The Business Analyst will provide a comprehensive range of

Information & Information Technology (I&IT)

business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs. The role involves engaging with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, and analyze requirements, while contributing to the development of policies, processes, and best practices for effective business analysis.

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems and opportunities. Document business requirements and translate them into I&IT solutions. Apply re-engineering concepts to recommend cost-effective service delivery approaches. Develop strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives. Conduct requirements gathering sessions (e.g., JAD sessions, workshops, interviews, mockups). Perform business, process, and data modeling; define business rules and non-functional requirements. Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to I&IT management and stakeholders. Develop and implement performance measures and traceability matrices for evaluating business analysis effectiveness. Stay informed about emerging I&IT trends and technologies to support modernization efforts.

Experience and Skill Set RequirementsBusiness Analysis (30%)

Strong knowledge of business analysis principles, including enterprise-level and program area analysis. Expertise in business modeling, analysis tools, methodologies, and documentation standards. Experience preparing business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies.

IT Knowledge and Experience (20%)

Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), system design, integration, and database concepts. Familiarity with enterprise architecture, business architecture, and user interface design principles. Awareness of current and emerging technologies as they relate to business-driven IT solutions.

Communication Skills (20%)

Proven ability to provide advice and consultation to senior management and technical staff. Strong client relationship management skills and demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and negotiation abilities.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills (15%)

Ability to assess complex business requirements and identify optimal technology solutions. Experience tracking project progress, resolving issues, and reporting to management. Competence in evaluating industry trends, standards, and policies.

Project Management (15%)

Understanding of project, portfolio, and service delivery management practices. Experience working with change management, quality assurance, risk management, and business continuity. Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile).

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of Information Management principles and accessibility standards (AODA). Experience using CASE tools for documenting requirements. Familiarity with business process mapping, object-oriented, and agile analysis methodologies. Experience developing performance measures for business analysis outcomes.
