Our valued Public Sector client is in need of a Senior Business Analyst to recommend industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry directions for a data migration project

Responsibilities: * Recommend industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry directions for technology;

• Support defining input / output sources, including detailed plan for technical design phase, and obtain approval of the system proposal;
• Use business, workflow, and organizational modeling software tools;
• Support and use the selected departmental methodologies;
• Consult and collaborate with various stakeholders;
• Facilitate meetings and discussions; and
• Coach and mentor teams members and users on best practices and provide knowledge transfer.

• 2 years performing all of the following activities within the same client engagement:

• Conducting requirements gathering sessions with multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., security, business, architecture, and application development teams);
• Requirements analysis and documentation development, including three (3) of the following models: flow chart, use case diagram, activity diagram, or swim lane diagram;
• Developing acceptance test criteria based on the business and technical requirements
• 2 years experience building analytics mock-up or prototype products (such as semantic layer of business data, dashboards, or reports) to elicit, elaborate and confirm business requirements, which includes one (1) year of experience per technology utilizing at least two (2) of the following technologies:

• Analytics Services in AWS or Azure;
• IBM Cognos v11+,
• Microsoft Power BI suite, or
• Tableau;
• 4 years experience performing both of the following activities in support of the client\xe2\x80\x99s data or analytics solution initiative within the same client engagement:

• Gather, define and document conceptual and detailed business requirements related to data or analytics solutions; and
• Develop executive presentations to clearly articulate and communicate business requirements to Senior Management*

• \xe2\x80\x8bSenior Management means Director-General level or higher in the Government of Canada, or their senior executive public or private-sector counterparts such as CEO, CIO, CFO, etc.
• 4 years experience gathering, defining and documenting conceptual and detailed business requirements related to data or analytics solutions, including:

• Data Collection;
• Data Warehousing;
• Business Intelligence;
• Scenario based forecasting;
• Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics
• Operationalization of data insights;
• Operationalization of Machine Learning algorithms;
• Data persistence;
• Data in transit;
• Data Quality, Data Management and Data Retention; and
• Data Lineage
• 4 years experience conducting risk or complexity assessments for a GC client\xe2\x80\x99s IT-enabled initiative, including both of the following activities within the same client engagement:

• Developing risk assessments and mitigation plans; and
• Provided written recommendations and options analyses pertaining to risk mitigation;
• 4 years experience in the development of governance documentation requiring approval from a GC Senior Management Committee* (such as business cases, Memoranda to Cabinet, or Treasury Board Submissions)

• *Senior Management Committee means a committee chaired by Assistant Deputy Minister or higher
