Role:
The Business Analyst reports to the Director, Business Analyst. As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring successful delivery of our insurance software solutions by acting as the bridge between our clients and internal delivery teams. You will be responsible for drafting, analyzing, and documenting requirements, supporting implementation activities, and building trusted relationships with our clients and colleagues. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to helping our clients succeed.
Your Day with Equisoft:
Drive requirement sessions with the client around policy administration business processes, technical processes, and non-functional requirements
Translate insurance product requirements into business and functional requirements, and translate insurance business processes, market practices, and other client business needs into specific software requirements
Document detailed user stories and specifications to guide development, configuration, and QA teams.
Work with the team leads and client Subject Matter Experts to identify and document solutions, define the project scope, project estimates and timelines
Present and recommend solutions to clients that meet their business needs
Act as the main contact for all requirements-related communications with the client throughout the project lifecycle.
Support the project manager and development team by owning the documentation of the detailed business requirements, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and identifying out of scope requirements and change requests
Ensure internal and external stakeholders share a clear understanding of project scope, objectives, and requirements.
Provide ongoing support to technical resources, configuration team, configuration lead, QA, and project managers by clarifying requirements and facilitating communication.
Collaborate with QA to ensure delivered functionality aligns with business expectations and requirements.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in our business analysis practices and help strengthen our delivery approach across projects.
Travel to client offices when necessary
Requirements:
Technical
Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience, and the ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
5-8 years of experience in a similar role
Experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industries
Proven ability to elicit and document complex business requirements with attention to detail
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Experience in leading and facilitating workshops with clients
Formal business analysis experience
Experience in client-facing project, not just internal initiatives
Very good knowledge of Web Technologies/Environment
Knowledge of the Agile methodology
Excellent knowledge of French & English (spoken and written)
Soft skills
Strong sense of organization and prioritizing
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment
Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor, and discipline
