Job Description


We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.

Role Description
Our client is looking for a technical and business-focused Business Analyst. The ideal candidate will have experience with eliciting business requirements, partnering with vendor professional services to facilitate workshops, developing and documentation of workflows, as well as documenting data mapping and migration requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with users to define concepts or workflows under the direction of the project manager.
  • Successfully engage, drive, and facilitate multiple initiatives and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Partner with vendor services to document configuration requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team members including subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Partner with Business focused analysts and vendor services to map data fields.
  • Lead and participate in process reviews or development and updates to or creation of associated documentation working with stakeholders.
  • Deliver and/or participate in standards, policies or process education and awareness.
  • Collaborate with project team members including subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Be the liaison between the project teams, technology teams and support teams.
  • Manage and execute required stakeholder and client engagement across project deliverables to support project plan and scope outline.
  • Work closely with other team members including OCM, Communications, and Learning specialists to help identify / validate stakeholder change impacts, provide technical review of communications and contribute to training curriculum and learning content.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar capacity.
  • Direct working experience or project experience in business areas or functions.
  • Oil & Gas/Energy Upstream Land and Well Management industry experience would be considered an asset.
