RWDI is looking for a Senior Building Commissioning Professional to join our team in our Toronto or Guelph location.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
Lead the commissioning of new and existing buildings, helping clients achieve peak performance and sustainability - often aligned with LEED certification standards.
Collaborate with the business development team by lending your technical expertise to proposals, client meetings, and strategic planning initiatives.
Identify and implement business development and delivery strategies to help grow the commissioning and energy services lines.
Work with team members and leaders to support client relationships and business development initiatives such as assisting with proposals, market research, and growing service offerings.
Work directly with clients to develop owners project requirements that align with their goals and vision.
Gather and analyze performance data.
Conduct in-depth energy usage analysis and provide actionable insights that drive energy efficiency and sustainability.
Prepare commissioning and audit reports.
Manage diverse projects ensuring that all deliverables are provided on time.
Communicate with project team members for scheduling, document collection and project status purposes
Monitor client procurement web sites for commissioning/energy service opportunities and prepare and submit proposals when warranted
Track industry developments and innovations to ensure RWDI' ability to deliver relevant services and innovative deliverables
Participate in development and delivery of training and presentations at industry events
Mentor more junior staff and identify opportunities to grow and develop members of the delivery team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
BS in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; or Building Construction related degree
Minimum 8 + years of relevant field experience related to performing new or existing building commissioning
Relevant field experience related to performing building energy audits, such as ASHRAE Level I or II, focused on HVAC and associated controls
Recognized commissioning credential strongly preferred but not required (ACG - CxA; BCA CCP; UW CxAP; ASHRAE CPMP CxA, CCP, QCxP, QCP, or CAP)
LEED AP accreditation strongly preferred but not required
Proven sales / market awareness with business development experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
Strong interpersonal, analytic, and organizational skills required
Ability to speak and present in front of a large group
Able to negotiate additional services agreement when appropriate and ability to manage scope creep
Highly professional in the conduct of work
Experience in project management strongly preferred
Some travel will be required for this position
