About the Opportunity
As our practice continues to grow, we have space for an experienced bookkeeper to work alongside our team and provide our clients with high quality, back-end financial support. The ideal candidate is confident and organized, as they will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP). This position offers a combination of in-person and remote work, and the successful applicant can expect significant growth opportunities within the firm.
Duties
This role requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and proficiency in accounting software especially Quickbooks Online and includes, but is not limited to:
Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintenance of accounts payable and receivable
Payroll processing
Year-end T4 preparation and filing
HST filing
Preparation of financial reports as needed for client review
Professional and prompt client correspondence and assistance with finance related requests and CRA inquiries
Your duties and responsibilities may evolve as you grow within the firm to suit our client's needs.
Your Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have at minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience and the successful completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate is an asset. The required skills for this position are:
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Quickbooks Online
Comfortable and experienced in working with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook and Teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines and competing interests effectively
Strong personal organization and initiative to thrive in the role with minimal supervision
A willingness to learn and adopt new technologies including workflow processes and accounting software and AI tools as required
A positive attitude to represent our firm's culture and values to clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
