We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on
Senior Bookkeeper
to own the day-to-day accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is critical to maintaining transactional discipline across inventory, receivables, payables, and the general ledger, and serves as a key support to the CFO as the business continues to scale.
Role Overview
The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing core accounting processes, including full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and support of month-end and year-end close. The role requires experience in an inventory-driven business and comfort working within an ERP environment. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial data, support compliance requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional Accounting & Close
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions across multiple entities
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Perform bank, credit card, AR, AP, and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain accurate and timely general ledger records
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Oversee full-cycle AP including invoice processing, coding, and payments
Maintain AP aging and vendor account accuracy
Prepare and issue customer invoices and credit notes
Maintain AR sub-ledgers and support collections tracking
Resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies
Inventory & Operations Accounting
Record inventory purchases, receipts, transfers, and adjustments
Support inventory reconciliations and physical inventory counts
Assist with landed cost allocations and inventory reserve tracking
Maintain accuracy of inventory-related GL accounts
Support operational reporting related to inventory and purchasing
ERP & Systems
Maintain accounting records within the ERP system (Epicor experience a strong asset)
Ensure proper coding to chart of accounts, cost centers, and entities
Support system integrity, data accuracy, and process documentation
Assist with accounting process improvements and system enhancements
Tax & Compliance Support
Prepare supporting schedules for HST filings and remittances
Maintain organized documentation for audits and year-end review
Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures
Support interactions with external accountants and advisors
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the CFO and broader finance team
Provide support to operations and sales teams on accounting-related matters
Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests
Contribute to special projects as the business grows and evolves
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or senior accounting experience
Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, or inventory-driven businesses strongly preferred
ERP experience required (Epicor or similar)
Strong reconciliation and transactional accounting discipline
Solid Excel skills and comfort working with detailed schedules
Working knowledge of Canadian tax and HST compliance
