This Opportunity
As a Senior BIM Manager at B+H Architects, headquartered in the Toronto Studio, you will collaborate with the global BIM group, where you will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of digital practice operations and project delivery processes., As a thought leader, you will collaborate with executive management, IT, BIM Managers, and project teams to provide guidance and inform the studio\xe2\x80\x99s design technology strategies and solutions. Through engagement and mentorship of our diverse and collaborative project teams, you will help augment and grow our approach to design and construction technology. Suitable candidates will have a creative and innovative mindset, with a fulsome understanding of architecture and construction at the intersection of design technology, process methodology, and project workflows. Advanced understanding of VR, AI, generative and computational design, data curation, and coding are considered assets, especially in the delivery of our studio\xe2\x80\x99s complex transformational projects. Your curious nature will strive to elevate our processes beyond traditional practice.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct BIM coordination meetings, workshops, lessons learned, and inter-disciplinary design checks as needed, while monitoring and tracking BIM implementation and model performance to ensure BIM is used effectively.
  • Create a yearly Digital Delivery Strategic Plan to outline short and long-term studio goals
  • Work with studio leaders to develop and maintain standards, protocols, and workflows.
  • Develop an education plan and action it to mentor and elevate the design expertise for team members on the use of various BIM-related tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop, manage, and maintain BIM models and documentation in cloud-based file management systems throughout the lifecycle of various projects.
  • Provide Revit/BIM support to project teams/BIM Coordinators and assist troubleshooting specific project problems.
  • Assist with the development of BIM documentation such as BIM Execution Plans, LOD Matrices, etc. and evaluate on a continued basis for adherence as project are developed.
  • Carry out BIM validation reviews as needed. i.e., IFC, clash detection, visual checks, COBie, etc.
  • Review BIM project requirements and propose the team approach to these.
  • Review contractual documentation to ensure alignment of scope-of-work with production capabilities.
  • Develop and manage BIM/Revit libraries, templates, and support documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovations, and technological advancements to enhance BIM capabilities and project outcomes.
  • Regularly monitor and report on KPI\xe2\x80\x99s regarding BIM implementation, performance, and goals to senior management.
  • Work with Project Managers to align team expectations and meet project milestones.
  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices related to BIM.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in architecture, or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology
  • 15+ years of progressive professional experience in the implementation of BIM on large-scale complex architecture projects.
  • Expert level proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Well-versed in multiple Common Data Environments (CDEs), and particularly proficient with ACC/BIM360 workflows for document management and model coordination.
  • Knowledge of programs such as Navisworks, dRofus, Dynamo, Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper, and Enscapeis considered an asset, as is experience implementing Revit Add-ins such as CTC Tools, Ideate, and PyRevit, amongst others.
  • Experience with implementing Clarity automation tasks is considered an asset.
  • Experience with applying ISO19650 Standards is considered an asset.
