Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the Capital Development and Facilities Management at Humber:
Capital Development & Facilities Management is responsible for new construction and renovation projects and provides project design, planning and space allocation services to improve and expand Humber's campus environment. We maintain all college buildings and grounds to provide a safe, clean, healthy and well-maintained campus environment that supports well-being and promotes excellence in teaching and learning at Humber. We also lead the college's sustainability programs through the Office of Sustainability.
About the Senior Building Automation Systems Technician Role:
Under the general direction of the Associate Manager, Plant Services the incumbent performs skilled work to ensure that the various building operations computer systems are communicating properly with each other, and troubleshoots and modifies programming as necessary. The Technician will have first line responsibility for diagnosing and maintaining the college-wide Siemens Building Automation System.
The incumbent will monitor the operation and performance of all building systems and will continuously communicate with the Manager regarding the status of operations. Developing strategies for the preventative maintenance of the building automation system is also the responsibility of the incumbent.
As BAS Technician, the incumbent will participate in responding to service calls, perform maintenance on building infrastructure/systems such as, but not limited to, HVAC equipment, lighting control systems, energy-metering systems, and building automation systems. S/he will maintain record documentation of all installations, inspections, maintenance and logs of failed equipment and systems.
As a key member of the Plant Services Team, the Technician is required to be on call 24/7 on a rotational basis according to a published schedule.

Education
3 year diploma / degree or equivalent - Engineering / Building Science or Building / Construction Technology
Additional requirements obtained by course(s) of a total of 100 hours or less:
Mould and asbestos abatement training
Workplace Hazardous Materials Inventory System (WHMIS)
Lock-out-Tag-out training
Ontario Driver's License - Class G
Microsoft OFFICE proficiency
Additional requirements obtained by course(s) of a total between 101 and 520 hours:
Desigo CC Master Operator (ST9273)
PPCL Master Programmer (ST6373)
Field Panel & FLN Operations (ST5504)
Experience/Skills
Minimum of five (5) years:
Experience in the controls industry including commissioning, software operation, calibration, field services & troubleshooting.
Proven experience with HVAC DDC/ BAS controls products and tools are necessary. Knowledge of HVAC DDC/BAS control system installations, programming, graphical user interface modification, system integrations, start-up checkout and commissioning are required.
Knowledge of and practical experience in the areas of energy management and indoor air quality are essential.
Adept in the use of standard user interface features like trending and scheduling.
Experience with open protocols like LonWorks and BACnet is an asset. Programming experience is essential.
Good understanding of HVAC Sequence of Operations, energy initiatives and efficiencies
Competency in Networking TCP/IP, MSTP protocol within the LON/BACnet applications.
Experience with pneumatic controls would be beneficial.
Good understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and electrical control systems is an asset.
Familiarity with IT network infrastructure such as servers, switches, patch panels, and other network equipment and environments is an asset.
Experience with working on Lighting Control Systems such as wireless lighting control and DALI is an asset.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and written control sequences are required. The ability to communicate effectively is required (verbal, aural, and written).
Knowledgeable in Automation systems such as Siemens, Johnston Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Tridium, Trane and Delta, as well as others. Humber College exclusively operates a Siemens BAS, knowledge in following product lines/systems is considered an asset:
