Job Description

We are looking for a

Senior API Automation Engineer

experienced in

Java-based API testing and automation frameworks

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing automated tests for APIs to ensure the quality and reliability of our software applications You will design and implement robust test suites to validate our backend services, ensure service reliability, and improve CI/CD test efficiency.




In this role, you will



Develop RESTful APIs using Java and perform API testing using Rest Assured framework. Develop and maintain automation frameworks for repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual testing efforts. Build comprehensive API test suites covering functional, integration, negative, regression, and contract tests. Integrate automation suites with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for automated execution and reporting. Participate in Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning. Maintain test cases and track defects using JIRA, Zephyr, or equivalent tools. Work closely with developers, QA leads, and architects to review APIs, ensure test readiness, and improve API quality from design to release.



Required skills: what you need to be considered



6-10 years of experience in software development or quality assurance with expertise in API automation testing Must have 3+ years of expertise in API automation Testing using Postman and RestAssured, or similar frameworks. Proficiency in writing efficient code using Java for developing RESTful APIs. Strong proficiency in Automation Framework Design and Development using Selenium with Java, TestNG, and integration with CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with Power Automate for workflow automation. Expertise in defect management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM. Experience with CI/CD tool like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps pipelines. Working knowledge of SQL and data integrity checks for Data Validation & ETL Testing. Cross-Browser and Mobile Testing: Using tools like Appium or BrowserStack. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and test lifecycle management.



Preferred skills:

Cloud Migration Testing experience (Azure or GCP environments). Understanding of OWASP principles and basic security validation. Familiarity with tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. Domain Knowledge: Transportation and Logistics systems, including supply chain workflows.
