We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Commercial Lines Auto Underwriter in our Oakville Ontario Commercial Lines branch .

You will service a meaningful portfolio of commercial auto business requiring good judgement and proficient underwriting ability. You will have a dedication to customer service perfection. You will underwrite small to large sized commercial accounts, and keep engaged to drive profitable growth.

Accountabilities:

• You will assess and evaluate risk for new and existing business including large accounts (IRCA, Fleet, Garage). Analyzing reports to resolve adequate exposure and loss rating, as well as maintaining awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.

• You will be involved in negotiations of renewal terms for the retention of business.

Do you take calculated risks?

• Throughout the underwriting process, we want to utilize loss control and risk management practices.

Are service levels important in the grand scheme of the relationship with Brokers?

• You will take the approach to respond to inquiries from our broker partners regarding modification to policy files and educate throughout the process.
• Working with brokers to develop new business is a key focus as an underwriter in the branch, we need to build and maintain excellent partner relationships, and better be responsible for the overall portfolio.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

• 6 plus years\' commercial insurance experience with an expertise in auto underwriting and underwriting processing.
• You will manage a portfolio of business focused on commercial auto.
• CIP is a must
• Excellent communication and social skills
• Good ability to prioritize and be administrative savvy
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good technical aptitude, including Knowledge of RTM and other underwriting systems is a plus
• Ability to meet important deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
