Overview


RSM is seeking a

Senior Associate

to join our

Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO)

team, supporting

emerging companies and small businesses

with end-to-end back-office finance and accounting services. In today's shifting economic environment--shaped by evolving accounting standards, tax regulations, and business models--our clients rely on practical, high-quality support and advice to stay compliant and make informed decisions.

Our clients span a variety of industries, including

financial services, technology, life sciences, and manufacturing

, and range from local businesses to organizations with national and international operations. As a Senior Associate, you will deliver strong technical accounting execution, develop client relationships, and contribute to operational improvements across multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee

full-cycle bookkeeping

for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality standards. Support

month-end and year-end close

, including reconciliations, working papers, and financial reporting deliverables. Identify and resolve accounting issues, escalating matters as appropriate, and propose practical solutions. Partner with clients to

improve processes and operational efficiency

, including use of cloud tools and automation. Provide

accounting, finance, and business advisory support

aligned to client needs and engagement scope. Deliver

timely, high-quality client service

that meets or exceeds expectations. Collaborate with RSM teams across service lines to support an

integrated client experience

. Support onboarding of new clients, documentation of workflows, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

Canadian CPA

(active or in good standing).

4+ years

of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment (public practice and/or industry). Strong understanding of

core accounting functions

and financial reporting processes. Experience with

accounting systems and cloud-based tools

; comfortable learning new technology. Advanced

written and verbal communication

skills; able to explain accounting concepts clearly to clients. Strong client service mindset with the ability to understand

business objectives, people, and processes

. Advanced

Microsoft Excel

skills. Ability and willingness to

work collaboratively

in a team environment. Willingness to travel periodically, depending on client needs.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing work across

multiple concurrent engagements/projects

. Prior

client-facing professional services

experience. Experience with

QuickBooks Online and/or Xero

(additional platforms a plus).
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
