The Opportunity
Internal Job Title: Visual Lead
Are you a visionary Art Director ready to shape the future of one of Alberta's most trusted brands? As our Senior Art Director, you'll produce conceptual campaigns and craft visual stories that connect and inspire based on insight-driven value propositions. You'll play a pivotal role in transforming our in-house Creative Agency (a team of 10) and drive conceptual development, setting AMA's visual tone, and pushing creative boundaries across every touchpoint to deliver measurable results and align with strategic objectives.
You'll be a driving force for creative and stakeholder collaboration, leveraging diverse perspectives as you creatively problem solve with visual solutions. You'll conceptualize and partner with a passionate team of copywriters, designers, motion designers, producers, and strategists as you execute creative marketing assets for all mediums including digital, print and video production. You thrive in a fast-paced, agile and purpose-driven environment where your creative leadership directly influences brand perception and member engagement.

How You'll Make an ImpactDrives innovation and fresh thinking by producing needle-moving creative assets from concept through execution
Facilitate and lead the creative brainstorming process based on provided briefs and create presentations to stakeholders which visualize how concepts can be executed across multimedia channels.
Collaborate with Copywriters, Designers and the Creative Director on creative campaigns, concepts and visuals
Work closely with external vendors including motion designers, illustrators and video production studios to execute creative campaigns
Interpret, understand, follow and challenge project briefs with an emphasis on value propositions.
Collaborate with clients and business units and interpret feedback to work towards their goals
Assist in the day-to-day operation and workflow in the Creative Agency to ensure timely work development, economic efficiencies and good team morale.
Explore and embrace the evolving role of AI in the creative development process and seek opportunities to improve efficiencies
Strong collaboration with the Creative Agency Producer to manage priorities and project timelines
What You Bring to the TableYou have a university degree or post-secondary diploma in visual design or art direction.
You bring 7 years of art direction experience in an agency or in-house creative team. With the right experience and portfolio, we're flexible on this requirement.
You've led large-scale, integrated marketing campaigns across diverse industries that translated into meaningful business results.
You're an expert in design hierarchy, typography, colour theory and can seamlessly blend these skills through creative execution.
You're a confident presenter and know how to align creative work with strategic goals.
You're highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities, and deliver top-quality work under pressure.
You have deep knowledge of traditional, digital, and social media platforms.
