About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join the Vancouver studio, focusing on large-scale mixed-use and concrete high-rise residential projects. This is a senior-level technical delivery role responsible for driving drawing production, consultant coordination, and construction detailing from design development through construction administration. The ideal candidate has deep local knowledge, extensive experience producing coordinated construction document sets, and the confidence to lead both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical documentation through all project phases, with a strong focus on detailed, coordinated drawing sets for concrete high-rise residential and mixed-use podium/tower buildings
Oversee and guide Revit production, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to office standards
Coordinate day-to-day with structural, mechanical, electrical, envelope, and specialty consultants; lead resolution of technical issues and clashes
Develop and review complex construction details, assemblies, and building envelope transitions for constructability and performance
Attend and contribute to consultant, client, and site meetings alongside partners in charge; track actions and ensure follow-through
Support construction phase activities including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, issuing SIs/CCNs, and conducting field reviews
Ensure alignment with BCBC, VBBL, and municipal processes, including permit, rezoning, and development submissions
Mentor and support intermediate and junior staff, fostering growth in detailing, technical thinking, and Revit workflows
Qualifications
Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent education
10+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years of local experience
Proven track record delivering coordinated construction document sets for complex concrete high-rise and mixed-use projects
Advanced proficiency in Revit, including familiarity with families, worksharing, and BIM standards
Strong understanding of BCBC, VBBL, and local authority requirements
Skilled in building envelope detailing, assemblies, and constructability principles
Excellent communication and coordination abilities; comfortable leading meetings and driving technical decisions
Organized, accountable, and proactive, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for well-built architecture
