WalterFedy is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join our expanding Calgary office. In this position, you will collaborate directly with architects on a variety of projects as a valued member of our Architectural team. Acting as a critical link between architectural concepts and completed construction, you will help ensure that designs are realized into buildings that are both functional and high performing. Your technical expertise will support our architecture and engineering teams throughout all phases of project development, contributing to the design and successful delivery of award-winning facilities for our clients.

What You Will Do

Lead interdisciplinary collaboration in the planning, execution, and design development of architectural projects, ensuring alignment with requirements, quality standards, budget, and timelines through site visits, surveys, and integration with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Apply advanced knowledge of architectural systems, engineering principles, and codes to ensure compliance and quality in design deliverables, while mentoring junior technologists in new techniques and standards through advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit and guiding them in applying architectural or engineering systems to working drawings. Develop detailed drawings and specifications from rough sketches, with constructible design solutions, aligning with and maintaining design intent. Perform drafting for intermediate projects and lead smaller ones under senior guidance. Determine survey needs and gather building condition information effectively. Complete assigned design tasks, reviewed for standards and accuracy. Manage time allocation and ensure project completion within set hours. Create accurate project drawing sets with defined scope. Participate in project planning to meet budget and schedule objectives. Collaborate with cross-departmental associates to address project requirements. Execute Revit work, including model setup and coordination. Provide contract administration duties such as review of shop drawings related to the fabrication of construction elements for accuracy, development of RFI responses, and supplementary information as required. Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the overall success of the team and company objectives. What You Bring to the Table

Diploma in Architectural/Construction Engineering Technology or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of projects. Strong aptitude for architectural design execution through construction detailing. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite and other relevant design software. Advanced understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on precision and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
