Job Description

Hanscomb's Ottawa Team has an immediate opportunity for a career-oriented Senior Level Senior Architectural Structural Civil Cost Consultant / Quantity Surveyor. You will have completed a related post-secondary Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or Civil Engineering program, preferably located within the Ottawa area, be a member of the CIQS and possess a PQS designation and have a strong understanding of the country's construction market as a result of your 10 years of experience.

About you.



Located within the National Capital Region or open to a potential relocation plan. A high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics. Professional demeanour. Self-motivated and able to be an integrated member of a team, and lead tasks when required. Knowledge of detailed cost, design, and construction processes. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Able to learn new computer-assisted estimating tools with efficiency and accuracy. Capable of working effectively on multiple tasks and demands. A member in good standing with CIQS, RICS, or AACE would be an asset. Be eligible to obtain a security clearance (min 10 years in Canada)

What you'll do.



Coordinate with and/or supervise other estimators working on specific assignments. Actively participate in working sessions and present cost explanations to clients and project stakeholders. Measurement of various types of projects from construction plans, including the ability to prepare detailed schedules of quantities. Quantify materials to prepare cost estimates in accordance with the Rules of Measurement and best practice. Prepare cost estimates at various stages of the design and construction processes. Assess and analyze costs between estimate stages and those of comparable projects. Price and analyze various stages, methods, and types of construction. Support Quality Control and Assurance protocols.
