Job Description

dkstudio architects inc. is seeking a motivated Senior Architect/Designer with 5+ years experience to join our team. Intern Interior Designers and Architects are welcome to apply.

You will assist with the execution of Luxury Retail, Workplace and Residential projects from start to finish. Must have a solid track-record in completing working drawings, which includes the coordination of working drawings and construction sets.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Must have workplace project experience.

Design & Technical Expertise:



Lead the development of conceptual design packages, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation. Oversee design consistency, quality control, and ensure the highest standards of architectural integrity are upheld throughout all project phases. Ensure that all designs meet relevant building codes, planning regulations, and sustainability standards. Review and verify the technical accuracy and completeness of project documentation, and lead design coordination with consultants and contractors. Address and resolve any design challenges or technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with the design intent.

Project Management:



Collaborate with the project management team to manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Work directly with clients to interpret project needs, refine design concepts, and maintain strong, ongoing relationships. Provide regular updates on project status and communicate any issues or concerns to the senior management team. Assist in managing project risks and proactively address any challenges related to project delivery, quality, or scope. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, maintain detailed project records, and assist in the preparation of progress reports.

Team Leadership:



Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Assign tasks and manage workloads within the projecto team to ensure project deadlines are met and standards are maintained. Collaborate with senior management to align staffing with project needs and support team development initiatives.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:



Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Maintain positive, professional relationships with consultants, contractors, city officials, and project stakeholders. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and efficient project execution.

Innovation & Sustainability:



Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and innovative design practices to incorporate into projects. Ensure projects meet or exceed environmental and energy performance standards as required.. Contribute to post-project reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future work.

QUALIFICATIONS



Workplace project experience is a must. Minimum 5 years of project management experience on high-end retail, workplace, hospitality, restaurants or residential projects. Able to produce a full set working drawings/construction sets using AutoCAD and Revit, both independently and as a team. Assist with engineer coordination. Strong working knowledge of Canadian building construction & detailing. (Ontario Building Code and National Building Code) HIGH Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is a MUST. Good working knowledge of Rhino & Photoshop. Fluent English speaker and strong communicator. Degree in architecture/interior design from a registered university or programme. Strong organization and time management skills. Must be willing to travel to our office in Toronto.

Pay: $70,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
