Seaway Corridor
Architecture49's Seaway Corridor Region is an office with deep ties across eastern Ontario. With bustling communities nestled along the St. Lawrence River, the region has a vibrant culture that uniquely combines the slow pace of small farming towns, with growing city centres. Bordered by Kingston, Ottawa and Montreal, our designers are sought out for their expertise in educational projects while expanding the practice to various sectors such as community impact, commercial spaces, and industrial hubs. Our architects know the beauty of both the rural and urban landscape, creating the perfect blend of small-town values and innovative designs with a focus on projects that serve to help communities prosper.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage teams in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
Manage a group of architectural staff, leading project meetings, and coordinating all other building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
Perform internal reviews and quality checks of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Lead team in the research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, specification and other documents.
Manage a team of consultants.
Client communication.
Provide technical and administrative oversight to ensure that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets.
Manage the financial aspect of the project including planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing and working with accounting to achieve the desired results.
Travel to communities and work sites in the Seaway Corridor.
Qualifications
Registered architect in Ontario (OAA).
10+ years experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with both Provincial and National related standards and codes.
Knowledge of BIM principles & workflows, REVIT software, AutoCAD software, Microsoft 365 environment and Bluebeam.
Experience with Visualization software, and Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.
Experience or desire to work with Indigenous communities would be considered an asset.
* Ability to effectively communicate and deliver services in French would be considered an asset.
