You\xe2\x80\x99ll will be responsible for the design, development and integration testing, in support of small to large scale projects. You will be responsible for providing production support when required. In addition, you will sometimes act as an application specific work package lead or as a project-level and cross-functional Technical Lead. Technical Leads liaise with other application work package leads and provide high-level design oversight to ensure an optimal end-to-end solution is implemented.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. • Application Development - You will code and configure solutions using multiple tools and technologies while meeting code quality targets for data programs, ETL pipelines, data transformations and other data engineering development tasks.
• Time Management - You will plan and manage multiple, individual and/or team priorities to meet established timelines.
• Requirement Analysis and Design - You will help translate Business Requirements into Solution Requirements and Technical design. This may include working directly with the Business to gain a complete understanding of their request to ensure the end solution meets their needs with minimal design defects.
• Production Support \xe2\x80\x93 You will be taking part in day to day production support work and support business users if there are any production issues. You will work with application support teams to analyze log files and resolve the issues based on priority.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, implementing and supporting complex projects building data engineering solutions including data processing, data warehousing, data mapping and transformations, other ETL processes and reporting applications is an asset
• Strong Azure cloud development and design working knowledge on at least the below items:

• Azure Network Security groups: To identify the NSG rules that are required to be allowed or denied
• Azure monitor : To configure alerts on various metrics and analyze for troubleshooting
• Azure data lake : Reading from and writing to from different sources using Azure SDK/APIs/configuration
• Azure data factory : Pipelines, data sets, linked services, integrated with Self-hosted integration runtime, mapping, authoring and monitoring data flows
• Azure SQL/Azure SQL MI: Azure SQL feature differences and SQL programming
• Azure Function App: HTTP Triggered apps, Timer triggered apps
• Azure Key Vault: Storing and retrieving secrets programmatically.
• Azure App services: Web apps, API Apps, Frontend SPA apps
• Strong knowledge in working with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle.
• Writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries and Stored Procedures is required
• Working knowledge in partitioning, indexes, statistics, explain/execution plans, etc is a plus
• Experience in creating Power BI Reports and analytics
• Experience building and integrating with external systems using REST API connectors
• Knowledge and experience of using GIT and Azure Devops
• Production support is required for this role on need basis.

Good to Have:

• Experience with any JavaScript framework
• Experience with Change Data Capture(CDC) tools and how CDC work
• Good knowledge working with message queue and stream processing systems
• Working experience with Azure App service environment
• Certification in Azure is an asset
• API development experience
