As a Senior Android Lead at TELUS International Digital Solutions, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge Android applications, leading a dynamic team of developers. Responsibilities

Develop scalable, testable, and reliable Android solutions, leading by example with hands-on coding expertise.

Follow best practices to enhance application performance and contribute to continuous improvement.

Research, identify, and recommend industry best practices for solving technical challenges.

Collaborate closely with architecture groups to deliver robust solutions.

Apply design patterns, best practices, and development frameworks, fostering a culture of excellence.

Act as a developer in software engineering phases, including requirements analysis, architecture an application design.

Build reusable components, frameworks, and libraries for cross-departmental leverage.

Mentor junior resources, sharing knowledge and fostering skill development.

Qualifications and Skills

Expert-level Android development with 10+ years of experience using Java, Kotlin, RxJava, and RxAndroid.

Experience in developing applications across different form factors (mobile, tablet) supporting various Android versions.

Proficiency in app architectures like MVVM, MVI, and MVP.

Exposure to performance tuning, power consumption, and material UI is a PLUS.

Proven experience with full-lifecycle mobile applications published in the Play Store.

Working knowledge of Rest API integrations and third-party libraries (Dagger, Picasso, Firebase, SQLite, etc.).

In-depth understanding of package manager, bound services, AIDL (Android Interface Definition Language), Activity Life cycle & content providers.

Ability to engineer RESTful services, Microservices, and architecture.

Experience with test frameworks like Mockito, Espresso & TDD-BDD frameworks for Android.

Strong object-oriented development skills.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Familiarity with the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
